My sister gave me an artistic rubber stamp many years ago for my birthday, and that started my love of making greeting cards for friends and family.  That has evolved over the years of not just making cards, but other types of art including altered books, decorative boxes, assemblage pieces, beading and jewelry making. I especially enjoy making ATC’s (Artistic Trading Cards) also known as ACEO’s (Artistic Cards, Editions and Originals) These are little pieces of art the size of a playing card 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

 

I have quite a fondness for paper (including ephemera), beads, letters (like in the alphabet) metal (especially rusty metal!) books, boxes, anything that I can alter in some way!

 

All of my artwork is made with 3D embellishments, including ribbons, fibers, paper and silk flowers, vintage ephemera, metal charms and chains, beads and more.

 

I have a studio (ok, it’s a spare room in my house) that is filled from the floor to the ceiling with things (I prefer to call them pieces of inspiration!) I use in my artwork.  Much of it I have collected from going to garage, yard and estate sales, and also thrift stores. I have also been known to go to a greeting card trade show now and then, and sometimes the occasional flea market.
